Founded as a quartet by members of 454, Fuzzdevil, Mat åt Far, and Mugwumps, in the vibrant 90s Uppsala music scene. Dimma embarked on a seemingly lifelong mission of riff based heavy rock, rich with influences from the 60s and 70s.
After the release of the first full length title, aptly named Pengar i Sjön (loosely translated: Money down the drain), Albert Gustavsson (vocals) left and the group transformed back to its founding trio: Rikard Jennische (vocals/guitar), Jakob Jennische (bass), and Olle Nilsson (drums).
Since then, five more full-length albums have followed. The constants of their unassuming posture, heavy riffs, energy, and love of playing and recording rock accompany ventures into suggestive and striking psych songs, Sabbath-esque heavy songs, as well as straight-on fast rock.
5 years after the latest album, through more collaboration with talented friend and producer Olle Granat, Tät Skog is being released in the spring of 2025, including more of everything that makes up Dimma. Riff, melodies, energy, speed, weight, and veils of dramatic melodies. The songs are completed by lyricist and singer Rikard’s beautiful, cinematic stories, where the charged texts whisper rather than scream on journeys where each scene vibrates with presence, perhaps in a search of serenity.
After releasing Dimma över Ekeby on Uppsala label Open Mind, and Imorgon börjar allting om with Transsubstans Records, the band is again a free agent and nonetheless equally as active and productive as always. The band had two songs (Försvinna i Dunkel, and Kommunen eller Gruvan) featured in the Swedish TV Series ‘Cry Wolf’ at the end of 2024.
”We’ve been at it the whole time, albeit not always showing signs of life. We mostly just like hanging out and jamming in the basement. We haven’t ever really done everything we could to break through. We’re kind of just happy with how things are” shares Rikard Jennische with a smile in an interview with Uppsala based newspaper UNT.
In the coming months Dimma performs in Uppsala/Williams on March 5th, Stockholm/Landet May 23rd, and Uppsala/Parksnäckan to support Graveyard on July 25th with more to follow.
